A silver plate, engine turned ash tray adorned with a fine casting of a horse head. This wonderful equestrian themed piece is from this 'horse head' series from the luxury French atelier, of which they introduced a large variety of items for the home and person. There is a long rest facing the head of the horse which is wide and long enough to support a cigar. The center of the dish has the classic concentric engine turned pattern running through it.
The ash tray is signed "Hermès Paris" along with the maker mark for Ravinet D'Enfert. D'Enfert made the majority of the larger homeware pieces for Hermès in the mid to late part of the 20th Century. The item is presented in superb, original condition, and are of the quality and beauty one would come to expect. Made in France, circa 1970's.
